Book Two of The Clan MacGregor series is a week away, and that means it’s time for a cover reveal! Yaaaay!
This comic came up on my FaceBook stream this morning. It was drawn by the artist Jen Mackin, and it’s so perfectly corny that I just had to share it. So Jen thanks for the lolz.
Two nights ago I spent what was probably a good 10-15 minutes trying to not hyperventilate around midnight. This is because something amazing happened that I have been dreaming about for the last two weeks. Claimed by the Highland Wolf has finally landed on the Amazon Top 100 list for Historical Romance. ALL of historical romance, opposed to before when it was for Scottish Historical Romance.
Since historical romance is such an insanely large subgenre achieving this was absolutely huge for me. I am so happy and grateful to every one of my readers that’s helped to make this possible.
But that’s not why I was going nuts last night. No, the reason I found it so hard to breathe is because my book is now sharing space on a best sellers list with Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander. Now THAT is something for me to hyperventilate about.
Diana Gabaldon has been my favorite author since I was 12 years old. Outlander moved and effected me in a way that no other book had before or has since. I just spent the last few days binge watching the second half of season 1 of the tv show. I dream of one day writing a book that can effect people in such a way.
When I saw my book on that list it finally hit me that I’ve achieved something that no one can take away from me. The future is uncertain, but right here in this moment I have a knowledge that will now stay with me forever. This moment can never be undone.
Well, it’s the final day of Hot Guys in Kilts Week, and this picture is coming to you by special request. I’m always a fan of wish fulfillment.
Yaaaay for Gerard Butler. I wonder if he’s wearing it traditionally…
